In the Forests
Luke Park
wires cut through
trees like flesh
fat, bone.
the tittle-tattle
of springtime birds,
fae, or raccoons
survived
but between sprouts
and thick bark
the wires, deep,
persisted.
the winds whisper
some whimper
or scrape unhealed
splinters of today.
