We shall spill like tides &
be the seashells children find
upon the sand
& every strand
of weed
so green
shall close like chains around their feet
& all the glass
from bottled dreams
which have been broken
piece by piece
shall sink again
into the storm
as if they never had been born
from children's minds
beneath the sky
beneath the sands that turn back time
so if you peer into the deep
where only sirens meet the sea
beware the child
with a smile
whom we drowned
to hear him weep
