I paused–

drawn through an ancient frozen

window pane.

Clouded memories drifted aloft

tied tightly to strings just out of reach.

Winter’s kiss of skeletal trees–

blurred

brushstrokes

silhouetted by an arctic blue

only seen across time’s eyes.

Starflakes cracked through–

anchored to my core.

Seeds of the past scattered

in a blistering wind–

perfectly strewn.

I gazed into crisp crystal clarity–

enveloped only by warmth.
