Yellow

By Greg Bolanos

My beautiful Blazing Star,
Erupting from the stones like a
Newborn, bouncing with life,
Trembling for the chance to reach
Zenith. The Heavens where you belong.
Epitome of survival, stamens
Longing for connection, stretching
Indiscriminately toward
Another.

Last love of
Adam, creation so divine
Even in the confines of the desert, proven
Veritably inhospitable, you
Invoke life: Grow. Go.
Catch the breeze to
Another plot of sand,
Utilizing one more unlivable locale.
Latching onto the lips of the Sun,
Inciting photosynthesis,
Salvaging morsels to make a meal.

Greg wishes to share the words that dribbled out of him at 3AM in the hope of inspiring a single bashful poet out there to do the same.
